Bugs around my apartment!!!

In the last few years, I have seen many insects around my apartment, some strange and some just scary!
But lately, I've been seeing more of them, why, I don't know!!!

Last week, I saw a praying mantis and a tarantula-like spider next to my apartment door!!! (spider is actually touching my door!) AND I saw this mamushi in the parking lot of my apartment building!!!! For those who don't know what a mamushi is, it's a venomous pit viper!!! (didn't know that at the time I took the picture) Ahhh, to live on a small mountain in rural Japan!
