Miyajima
Voici notre voyage à Miyajima...
C'est une isle proche de Hiroshima avec un shrine qui est sur la côte. On peu visiter le "tori" d'entrée à marée basse...
On a vu plusieurs chevreuils et singes à Miyajima! C'était tellement GREAT!!

Once again, your pictures blow me away. I love the one of the monkey and baby. Why have I not seen these beautiful creatures when I've been to Miyajima? Where were they?
...Obviously not in the shops and restaurants eh?
nope, not in the shops or the restaurants...only deer stay there! The monkeys were on top of Misen (we took the lifts to the top and hiked down). We had perfect monkey Karma! We were there when some guy was feeding them!! Just came out of a little house and threw some seeds out.....they came running from everywhere!! You could see them in the trees too!! After that, they stayed around, picking up random seeds and the flees from the deer!! We watched them for hours!!! They were sooooo kawaii!!!! Many had babies!! aaaaaaahhhh Monkeys!!!
Where is this lift you speak of? How long does it take to hike back down?
I must see more monkeys before I leave.
And now for your listening pleasure...
(To the tune of "Spiderman")
Carolechan, Carolechan, does whatever a Carole can! Monkeys here, monkeys there, Miyajima better beware! Looook out...here comes the CAROLECHAN!!
WOW!! That is a catchy tune!!!! I like it!!!
The lift is called : the ropeway. There are signs, or just ask the locals. It's about a 20 minute walk from the ferry station...It's about 1000 or 1500 yen to go up ( I think, 1000 to go up, or 1900 for a return)...but it takes less than one hour to climb down. If you don't see any signs, and the locals can't understand "ropeway" ask for the way to Misen (the name of the mountain).
It's strange, they really don't advertise the monkeys! But they are there!!!!
Gambatte!! Hope you see some more monkeys!!
